472kHz & 5MHz allocation for Cyprus radio amateurs

It is with great excitement that the Cyprus Amateur Radio Society received notice from the Department of Electronic Communications of the Government of Cyprus, that two new bands have been officially released for use by Cyprus radio amateurs since 30 June 2017.

Namely, the two band allocations involve the 5Mhz and 472kHz as follows:

Band allocation Power Notes
472 – 479 kHz 1 W EIRP
Available on a secondary basis, subject to the condition that stations do not interfere with other services.
5.3515 – 5.3665 MHz 15 W EIRP
Shared with other services.

Use of these bands is subject to the current IARU R1 band plan, and radio amateurs in Cyprus using these bands are urged to conform to the band plan as published on the IARU R1 website:
